Geoff Ogilvy DUMPS Puma... Heading to Footjoy

Geoff Ogilvy is switching apparel sponsors. He dumped his former sponsor Puma for Footjoy... and he also switched golf clubs. He has gotten rid of Cobra and is now playing Titleist. Note, Footjoy and Titleist are both divisions of Acushnet.

It seems kinda smart on his part... because when I think of Puma the brand, I think of a person that's hip and young. Geoff Ogilvy is neither of these. I'd imagine they were probably going to drop him soon anyway.

Puma probably doesn't care much though... They recently signed on two-time All American from Oklahoma State Rickie Fowler.

Fowler, who could be the next big superstar on the PGA TOUR, seems like a much better match for the Puma brand.

As a Puma rep put it, "We are extremely excited about that relationship for a number of reasons — U.S. based male, great headwear exposure as well as being an exciting young, hot asset in golf."

Agreed.
